Fist of the North Star has a better manga and anime, the movie sucks. It sucks that this was your first experience to Fist of the North Star was through this bastardization, and the shitty English dub no less. The movie completely changes the motives of Raoh, and neglects many other side characters; which are the meat and potatoes of the series. The English dub completely rewrites dialogue (Ryuken’s lines when he learns about Kenshiro being dead, for one), and doesn’t explain anything about pressure points or anything relating to the martial arts of the world.
Granted, this episode is like 2 years old at the time I’m writing this so maybe this doesn’t matter, but if you want to give this series a fair shake I’d suggest reading the manga or watching the 1980’s anime. The series has more to offer than the shitty movie and I hate that it has such an influence on people’s opinions and sometimes that’s their first and last interaction with Fist of the North Star.
